The Refugee

An old man, too old for the heavy burden he is carrying, is the last of the procession. He can rarely keep up with others. When he cannot go longer he sells hot noodles sitting near a stand. A man pardons him and gives him some coins, even though he does not know where his next meal comes from.

The old man is reluctant to take money. He does not want to worry about beggars and therefore explains the situation. He said that his people had good land, but the river grew and they had no food left. In frustration they ate the seeds bought for land farming. He suffered pain to protect his people and said that he was very hungry and very inexperienced about the future, although he warned them not to eat seeds.

Passenger man drops a silver coin and a copper coin drops in the arrival of the old man and goes on his way. Due to the surprise of the Noodle vendor, the old man does not spend all the money on food, only copper coins are spent. She gives her younger granddaughter noodles, to whom she is carrying one of her basket. The boy's father and his father died in flood and old people are now taking care of their child. He himself owns a few scraps of the boy. Then he handed the bowl to the amazing vendor, who does not understand why a hungry man does not buy more food for himself than with a figurative coin. The old man explains that the remaining money is for the seeds. He said that what he can do for his grandson is to get more hunger for next year to buy seeds.

A few hundred miles away, the farmers of an unwanted country leave their homeland and take shelter in the capital for hundreds of miles due to the river flood. The city is full of horror and hungry refugees, and no one knows how to deal with the problem. They must have a huge camp outside the city wall to find work and food. The situation is creating a lot of bitterness among the local residents.

One day some new refugees came. They are different from others that they are not "hungry from some communities poor and hungry at hunger". They are all proud of themselves in the same area and neatly decorated, orderly and clearly furnished, and despite their expected conditions. However, there are no young girls and no children, which suggests that they are still dead working in the fields during flood. All of them carry beds and calendars, although there is no trace of food among them. The lack of food shows their indifference towards things in their mouths and around them.
